Important. To be considered.
The General Administration of Customs, through the Central Administration of Customs Investigation, reported that it updated the database of importers, in order to have greater visibility of inconsistencies in the data of Federal Register of Taxpayers, which implies that it is about to initiate multiple procedures of suspension of the Register of Importers to the taxpayers that are not located in their Tax Address that they have registered.
In our experience, many of these inconsistencies occur when taxpayers submit notices of tax domicile modification in their Federal Taxpayers Registry, but do not follow up on the verification process, which causes the Tax Administration Service to assign them the status of "NOT LOCATED" and therefore, may be subject to suspension from its Importers Register.
"If found in the previous situation, our recommendation is to request a tax address verification as soon as possible through the SAT web site in order to regularize its status with the RFC and avoid a possible suspension".
Due the above, we recommend that taxpayers who have an active Importers Registry, whether general and / or a specific Sector, frequently monitor the status of their tax address before the SAT and thus avoid any setbacks with their business international operations.
